Q. What is CARR CHALLENGE?

CARR CHALLENGE is a talent hunt program under which a series of global quiz competitions in the fields of Finance, Financial engineering, Applied Mathematics and Physics will be held every year in major cities and university campuses around the world.

Q. Who can compete in CARR CHALLENGE?

This series of global quiz competitions is open to all university students – undergraduates, post-graduates, doctoral and post-doctoral students – and those in the academia and industry pursuing research in the above areas as well as all young professionals working in the industry, such as in banks, financial institutions, securities companies, corporations, etc.

Q. Where will the quiz competitions be held?

At the present moment, under the CARR CHALLENGE Program, a series of quiz competitions will be held at the regional level in Mumbai, Singapore, Toronto, Montreal, London and New York. Additionally, the quiz competition will be held in many university campuses across several countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and India and the winners will then be asked to participate at the regional level.

Q. When will the quiz competitions be held?

This quiz competition will be held every year over a particular season comprising a 12 month period starting July / August. This season’s (2015 – 2016) inaugural quiz event will be held in Mumbai followed by other cities.

Q. How will the winners be chosen globally?

In each regional level three winners will be chosen and they will be awarded the regional title. From the three winner at the regional level, the first two will be invited to, subject to terms and conditions, participate in the global round – the grand finale – in New York. At the global level in New York there will be three winners from amongst all the regional participants who will be awarded the global title.

Q. Will the quiz competition be held in New York twice every season?

In New York, there will be a regional round of quiz competition, like every other regional centre, where participants from all over the United States and South America will participate. Additionally, there will the grand finale of all the regional rounds where the first two competitors from the regional rounds will participate for the ultimate global title.

Q. What kind of prizes will be awarded?

Subject to the local laws, at the regional level there will be cash prizes awarded to the first three participants. In the event a cash prize cannot be awarded to the winners due to restrictions of local and federal government laws, equivalent prizes in kind shall be awarded. At the global level as well, subject to the laws of the United States of America, and the local laws of the State of New York, cash prizes will be awarded to the winners. In the event cash prizes cannot be awarded to the winners due to restrictions of local and federal government laws, equivalent prizes in kind shall be awarded.

Q. Who would be the judges of the quiz competitions?

The judges will be selected from the Quiz Committee appointed by Risk Latte Americas Inc. and Risk Latte Company Limited, and shall be senior level professionals from banks, financial institutions, corporations as well as those from academia with impeccable and stellar credentials in the above subject areas of the quiz competition.

Q. How can I register for the regional quiz event in a particular city?

Anyone and everyone who wants to compete in this global quiz competition will have to register for the regional events via this website. For more on registration for the regional quiz events click here. However, before a participant can register for any of the regional competitions within CARR CHALLENGE he or she has to create his Profile on this website.

Q. How can I create a Profile on the CARR CHALLENGE website?

To register for any of the regional quiz competitions under CARR CHALLENGE, you must have a Profile, i.e. an Account, with CARR CHALLENGE. Only after you’ve created your Profile, can you register for any of the regional quiz events. To create a Profile, simply click here.

Q. Can someone who is not a participant in any of the regional quiz event create his or her Profile?

Yes, anyone can create his or her Profile on CARR CHALLENGE website. You do not have to be a participant or a contestant in the regional quiz events to create a Profile. Indeed, we welcome everybody to create their Profiles on CARR CHALLENGE.

Q. How will creating a Profile on CARR CHALLENGE site help those who are not competing in the regional Quiz events?

CARR CHALLENGE website, besides being a repository of information (about the quiz competition) and knowledge (in various subject areas) is also a vibrant online social network where individuals from different fields and various subject areas can talk to each other about quizzes, quiz competitions, share knowledge and connect with each other. Moreover, the CARR CHALLENGE social network will be linked to the bigger online social network, QUIZZORT™ that will be released shortly, and if you have a Profile on CARR CHALLENGE it will be automatically enabled on QUIZZORT. Moreover, a lot of surprise and impromptu quiz competitions, both sponsored and non-sponsored, will be held online via this website where anybody can participate. If you have a Profile on CARR CHALLENGE then you can partake in those quiz competitions and win prizes.

Q. After Registration who will be allowed to participate in the onsite, on-the-ground regional quiz event in each city?

After registration online for a particular quiz event in a particular city all registrants will have to answer a set of 4 (four) questions in their chosen subject area. Based on the correct responses, the first 100 teams (or less) will be invited to attend. In other words, not more than 100 teams will be invited to attend the onsite, on-the-ground quiz event in a particular city – at the regional level – and this selection will be based on the correct responses to the online quiz.

Q. Is the Registration for a regional quiz event in each city done individually or as a team?

Everybody has to register individually for a regional quiz event.

Q. How many individuals shall comprise a team for participating in the Regional as well as the Global round of quiz events?

One individual shall comprise one team. And each individual will have to name his team that will be unique.

Q. What is QUIN?

QUIN stands for QUIZZORT UNIQUE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER. Anyone who creates a Profile on the CARR CHALLENGE website will be allotted a QUIN that will be unique and cannot be changed. The same QUIN shall also be used to identify and register the user (individual) on QUIZZORT.

Q. Can I register for the regional quiz events in different cities?

No, you cannot. You can only register for the regional quiz event that is within your geographical domain. For the purposes of CARR CHALLENGE, currently the geographical domains are loosely segregated based on continents. For example, those residing in India or anywhere else in South Asia, South East Asia, North Asia and the Far East can only register for the Mumbai and/or the Singapore quiz events. But they cannot register for the quiz events in other cities in Europe and North America. On the other hand, those based anywhere in Africa, Middle East, Central Asia and Europe can only register for the quiz event in London. To learn more on geographical domains click here.
